JASON ENGLISH BALLYPOREEN N.S. IS ALL IRELAND HANDBALL CHAMPION
Last weekend Jason English of Ballyporeen N.S. won the All Ireland Cumann na mBunscol Under 13 handball title. Jason overcame Monaghan, Kilkenny and Galway opponents to secure the title. It is a phenomenal achievement for this talented young man. It was the first All Ireland Schools Handball title for Ballyporeen N.S. Special praise must go to Headmaster Nicholas Dineen for all the hard work he does in promoting sport in the school. Jason was supported by his proud parents Mike and Margaret and brother Adam who made the long journey to Cavan to support Jason.
MATCH REPORT COMPETITION
For the eight school weeks that remain after the Easter Break, Tipperary Cumann na mBunscol will be running a “Reporter of the Week” competition. A special “Reporter of the Week” link has been added to our website: http://www.cumannnambunscol.tipperary.gaa.ie/. The success of this competition is very much dependant on the response we get from the children in schools. I would encourage all teachers to have writing competitions and to pick a winning entry and submit it to Tipperary Cumann na mBunscol PRO John Manley of Dualla NS at email@example.com. I will then attempt to pick a winning entry. The pupil’s match report will then appear in the “Reporter of the Week” section of our website and the winner’s name will also be announced on Tipp FM. The following criteria should be adhered to:
COUNTY HURLING FINALS
The 2011 Tipperary Cumann na mBunscol Hurling Finals have been provisionally fixed for Semple Stadium on Thursday/Friday, June 9th/10th.
KILCASH NS OVERCOME DUALLA NS IN CLASSIC BY JACK MOLOUGHNEY 5TH CLASS DUALLA NS
On the 14th of April Dualla N.S played Kilcash N.S in a game to take a place in the Cumann na mBunscol mid semi-final. The game started at around 11:00 and everyone was ready on time. The game started with Dualla scoring an early goal. Very shortly after that Dualla scored another amazing goal. It was like this for a while but then Kilcash got their first goal. They followed this with two great points. Kilcash were scoring even more goals and were leaving Dualla behind. Dualla finally got another goal but then Kilcash replied to this with another goal and point. The score was now Dualla 3-1 Kilcash 6-2. Dualla were really going for it now and got four brilliant goals. But Kilcash were still on the top with three excellent goals and one great point. It was nearly the end of the game now and Kilcash finished in style with yet again a great goal. Kilcash were the victorious ones who are going through to the semi-final. But Dualla didn’t let them get there without a fight and didn’t let them go easily. It was an excellent game with lots of excitement. There was also a ten minute subs game for anyone who didn’t get on.
