REPORTERS OF THE WEEK

Well done to this week’s Tipperary Allianz Cumann na mBunscol Reporters of the Week Chloe Lahart, Declan Crosse & Páraic Brosnan of Dualla National School. These pupils produced fine match reports on the recent Tipperary versus Galway National Hurling League Clash.

TIPPERARY VS GALWAY BY CHLOE LAHART 6TH CLASS DUALLA N.S

On Sunday the 11th of March Tipperary played Galway in Hurling, in Semple Stadium. The captain was Paul Curran. The first goal was scored by Noel McGrath and the second goal was scored by Pa Bourke on the Tipperary team. John O’ Neil, Timmy Hammersley, Shane McGrath and Eoin Kelly played very well in the match. At half time it was a draw between Galway and Tipperary. During half time, there was an exhibition game that involved Primary School children from a selection of Tipperary Schools. At half-time Eoin Kelly came into the team but after a while he got injured. He was after pulling his hamstring in the back of his leg. Tipperary won by two points. It was a brilliant win for Tipperary. Nearly Five Thousand people attended. Galway were very good. It was hard to gain the upper-hand at first but now Galway and Tipperary are on the same level as each other. One day we hope to meet Galway again in another friendly encounter.

MY DAY AT TIPP V GALWAY BY DECLAN CROSSE, 6TH CLASS DUALLA N.S

It was lovely day in Semple Stadium. The sun was shining for this second round clash. Galway got an early point from the throw in. Galway got a goal before Tipperary had got any score. Then Tipperary put a score on the board and the match progressed from there. By half time it was a draw. I thought that John O’Neill played well. Then Noel McGrath put the ball in the Galway net. After that, Pa Bourke scored another goal and the score was 2 - 20 for Tipperary and 2 - 18 for Galway. It was a great match and there was only one injury. Eoin Kelly had pulled his hamstring. He was only on the field for about two minutes. My Man of the Match was Brendan Maher.

MY MEMORABLE DAY IN SEMPLE STADIUM BY PÁRAIC BROSNAN 4TH CLASS DUALLA NS

Close to five thousand attended the match. The sun was shining. Paul Curran was the Tipperary captain. Galway are a much improved side .They have a new manager named Anthony Cunningham. Eoin Kelly came on at half time for Shane McGrath. Eoin Kelly tore his hamstring. Pa Bourke scored Tipperary’s first goal then Noel McGrath scored Tipperary’s second goal. The full time score was 2-20 to 2-18. Tipperary won by two points. Shane Bourke had to get three stitches just under his eye. There were no red cards. Brian O’ Meara nearly scored a goal but the Galway keeper made a good save. My Man of the Match was Pádraic Maher.
