Our County Hurling Finals will take place in Semple Stadium on  Thursday/Friday June 7th/8th.

All schools wishing to compete in Cumann na mBunscol activities for 2012 are encouraged to send the €30 Registration Fee to Mr. Jerry McDonnell, Treasurer Tipperary Cumann na mBunscol, 25 Ballingarrane, Clonmel, Co. Tipperary as soon as possible. This very reasonable fee allows schools to participate in all Cumann na mBunscol activities for 2012. It also ensures that your school benefits from the subsidised Equipment Scheme. This is an annual payment and should be paid annually. It is NOT a one off payment. If schools could see to it that this fee is paid, it would be much appreciated. The following schools have paid their annual registration fee for 2012. If your school is not on this list, the €30 Registration fee is due immediately. In accordance with a recent motion that was passed, a school must pay the €30 Registration fee before participating in Cumann na mBunscol, Co. Thiobraid Árann activities. Well done to this week’s Tipperary Allianz Cumann na mBunscol Reporter of the Week Finn Briody Holycross N.S.

Without a doubt my favourite G.A.A. memory is training with the Tipperary senior team. I was in a frenzy of excitement when my uncle brought me into training with him. He’s an assistant to the management team. I got to meet the entire panel. It was amazing! I had to help Hotpoint as well, keeping all the sliotars. There was a great hullabaloo and commotion around Semple Stadium. Semple was a riot of colour. Luckily my uncle kept bringing me into all the training sessions. At one of the sessions we played Clare in a training match. We beat them by twenty-six points. “Goodness gracious”, I exclaimed. I couldn’t believe my eyes. It was only two weeks after the Munster Championship where Tipp only won by a few points against Clare! When I went into the last training session before the All Ireland Final, I watched all the people from around Tipp flood into Semple Stadium. I was astonished! I couldn’t believe it when I saw the throngs of people. Perfect stillness descended on the stadium as they read out the team for the final. I was euphoric with the team and headed inside through the tunnel. Outside the dressing room it was a frenzy of excitement, people trying to get autographs and pictures with the team. It was crazy! The atmosphere was electric. Sadly Tipp didn’t win the final but it was still an unbelievable match. Unfortunately I can’t go training this year because I have a lot of homework in sixth class and I don’t have any time for training. What a pain!
