2012 ALLIANZ CUMANN NA MBUNSCOL ‘YOUNG REPORTERS’ COMPETITION

Calling all budding young Sports Reporters! Would you like to see your name in print?
We are looking for articles or accounts about Cumann na mBunscol activities in your school. Could you write a short report on a school match, training tips, humorous stories or other interesting material with a Cumann na mBunscol link? It could be about Hurling, Football, or Athletics. A special “Reporter of the Week” link has been added to our website: http://www.cumannnambunscol.tipperary.gaa.ie/. I would encourage all teachers to have writing competitions and to pick a winning entry and submit it to Tipperary Cumann na mBunscol PRO John Manley of Dualla NS at pro.cnmb.tipperary@gaa.ie. I will then attempt to pick a winning entry. The pupil’s match report will then appear in the “Reporter of the Week” section of our website and the winner’s name will also be announced on Tipp FM. The following criteria should be adhered to:

·         Entry is to be typed and emailed to: pro.cnmb.tipperary@gaa.ie

·         Capital Letters should be used for each name in the title.

·         Font Style: Verdana Size: 10

·         It must be formatted and spell checked. There must be a space after full stops and commas.

·         Report should have a title: e.g. “ UNFORGETTABLE SCENES AS FORMER PUPILS BRING ALL IRELAND MINOR CUP TO CASHEL BNS”

§  Match Report should contain Score, Venue, Referee’s Name and Teamlist(s) where possible.

·         Praise should be given to both teams.

·         No paragraphs.

·         It should be proof-read and checked for grammatical errors.

·         It should be no longer than two hundred words.

·         Pupil’s name, school, teacher and class should accompany entry. It must be emailed by your teacher, school principal or school secretary.

REGISTERED SCHOOLS

All schools wishing to compete in Cumann na mBunscol activities for 2012 are encouraged to send the €30 Registration Fee to Mr. Jerry McDonnell, Treasurer Tipperary Cumann na mBunscol, 25 Ballingarrane, Clonmel, Co. It also ensures that your school benefits from the subsidised Equipment Scheme. This is an annual payment and should be paid annually. It is NOT a one off payment. If schools could see to it that this fee is paid, it would be much appreciated. The following schools have paid their annual registration fee for 2012. SECRETARY’S THANK YOU TO ALL BLITZ PARTICIPANTS AND ORGANISERS

I just want to thank all the co-ordinators who organised the Under 11 Hurling blitzes, and the Under 13 Camogie blitzes during the week. Without your great co-operation and hard work we wouldn't have been able to provide the children with the opportunity to play their favourite games. The Under 11 Go Games model has proved to be very popular and we are delighted to see that schools have enjoyed the blitzes so much. Congratulations to all schools who made it through the blitzes. Also well done to ALL teams who participated and to ALL players who put on their school jerseys this week and gave of their very best in each of the games. The objective of the Under 11 model is to ensure that all children get to play in each game. It's an objective that is being met. I would like to say to a big thanks to ALL the teachers who give of their time to train teams and help develop the stars of the future. You are doing a great deed. Tipperary Allianz Cumann na mBunscol and indeed Tipperary GAA is deeply indebted to each and every one of you. Le meas, Aodan Wrenn, Secretary, Tipperary Allianz Cumann na mBunscol.
