Thoughts on the Tipperary Allianz Cumann na mBunscol County Finals By Secretary Aodan Wrenn.

It's that time of year again when we host the Cumann na mBunscol County Hurling Finals. All roads lead to Semple Stadium next Tuesday and Wednesday the 14th and 15th of June.

These 2 days are always the highlights of the Cumann na mBunscol year, and are always eagerly anticipated by children and teachers alike. Reaching the Stadium is always a major goal for schools when the hurling season kicks off every Spring. Although many schools achieve their goal, many don't get to play in Semple Stadium. I would like to congratulate all the schools who didn't get to County Final day, for training just as hard as everyone else and showing just as much commitment as everyone else. Only a certain amount of schools get to play in the Stadium every year, and for those who didn't make well next year will give them another chance to get there.

I'd like to congratulate those schools who did make it, and I wish you the very very best of luck in your County Final. I sincerely hope you have a great day out. I sincerely hope you enjoy the experience, win or lose. It's not all about winning at this level. Its about playing the games, enjoying playing and having fun, while developing all the skills of the game. It's lovely to win, and we all love winning, but realistically at this level I feel its just as important to enjoy the games and to give your absolute best in the attempt to win. Once you've given of your absolute best, thats all that can be asked of you. I would like to wish all the young boys and girls the very best of luck in their games, and I hope they all take great memories of their day in the sun. My advice to the children is to go out and enjoy the experience, relax, don't put pressure on yourself, play with freedom and abandon, give of your absolute best and don't come off the pitch with any regrets. I know that all the children will have dreamed about playing in Semple Stadium, the Cathedral of Hurling, and I sincerely hope that you all achieve all you dreamed about, in the field of Dreams. Best of luck to you all.

Just a few quick thoughts on some of this years finals. The u13 A Hurling showdown is a repeat of two years ago when the hurling heavyweights of Scoil Ailbhe and Holycross collide. Two years ago the match was a masterpiece, and this year it promises to be an epic once again.

Cashel play Templemore in the B Hurling decider and this will be a brilliant game in my opinion.

Presentation Thurles v St. Marys Nenagh in Under 11 Camogie Roinn A promises to be a great final aswell.

The Hurling Roinn C decider sees Loughmore collide with Kilruane. A classic is in store here between two fanatical hurling schools.

Mullinahone play in the D final against Dunkerin. Mullinahoe, a real traditional hurling area, are back in the stadium after an absense of a few years. Best of luck to both these teams.

Drom play in 2 finals: under 13 E hurling, and Under 13 C Camogie. Thats an excellent achievement.

Upperchurch and Boherlahan are also in 2 finals, as are St. Marys Nenagh, Ayle, Two Mile Borris, Cashel and Templemore. A magnificent achievement by all.

Scoil Ailbhe are in 3 finals; u13 A, u11 A, U11 A1. That is remarkable consistency. Best of luck to them in each final.

Holycross play in 4 finals! U11 A, U11 A1, U13 A and under 13 B Camogie. Well done to them on doing so well this season. It is phenomenal to reach 4 finals.

Carrig Birr will play in their first final for a number of years in u11 C Camogie. Best wishes to them.

Inch are back on County Final day after a few years away. They play Thomastown in Under 13 E Hurling.

Ballina play in the u13 A Camogie final against St. Marys Nenagh. This promises to be an excellent encounter.

Anacarty play against Rearcross in the F Final. This is a final that sees 2 schools that haven't been to the stadium in recent seasons collide.

Powerstown played in their first ever stadium final last year, and are back again this year. They play in the u11 C Hurling final.

Kilbarron also played for the first time here last year and are back to play in the Roinn F showdown.

There are so many great matches in store over the 2 days. It will be a feast of hurling! I personally can't wait for the action to commence at 9.40 on Tuesday morning!

Best wishes to everyone.
