Under 11 Football Fixtures 2017

St. Michael’s N.S,

Clerihan,

Clonmel,

Co. Tipperary.

A chara,

There are a few important things I’d like to point out, and remind schools, about the Go Games Blitzes.

1.       Each game in the blitz will be of 20 minute duration. There will be two halves of ten minutes each.

2.       The cut-off point for Under 11 players is the 1st of September 2017. Therefore a player must be under 11 on or before the 1st of September 2017. Example: If a player’s 11th birthday is on the 31st of August he/she is over-age by a day.

To be under 11 players must have be born on or after the 1st of September 2006.

3.       Schools must bring a minimum of 2 subs to the Blitz and a minimum of 2 subs must come on at half time in each game. If 7 subs are brought to the game, only 2 MUST come on. The other 5 don’t have to be brought on. However we would encourage you to include all players that are brought. The rules regarding playing an extra 10 minutes at the end of an under 13 game do NOT apply for Under 11.

4.       Each school to pay 15 euro to the referee, and 10 euro to the caretaker.

5.       There will be a square ball and, like Under 13, it will be up to the referee’s discretion.

6.       I wish to remind schools about their duties regarding ‘B’ teams. Players on the ‘A’ team are not allowed play on the ‘B’ team, under any circumstances. Please adhere to this ruling and abide by the rules of Go Games. A school’s ‘A’ team is to be their ‘A’ team and not their ‘B’ team. There have been occasions where school’s ‘B’ teams were exceptionally strong and I sincerely hope that no school will try, or has tried, to pull a ‘fast one’, by playing their ‘A’ team in a ‘B’ team blitz. In my opinion that would make a mockery of the Go Games and Fair Play Models. I would ask schools never to even contemplate carrying out such an act. Any school found to be in breach of this rule will be immediately suspended from all Tipperary Allianz Cumann na mBunscol activities.

7.       In 5 team blitzes, where each team plays each other, the matches are to be 7 minutes a half (14 minutes in duration), unless the schools involved want to play 10 minutes a half.

8.        For 9 a-side, 8 a-side and 7 a-side blitzes the pitch is to be shortened. It will go from the 21 yard line to the opposite 45 yard line.

10 a-side and 11 a-side blitz matches are to go from the 21 yard line to the opposite 21 yard line. Full width will be played in all blitzes, unless the schools agree amongst themselves to narrow the pitch.

9.        THERE WILL BE NO SCORE DIFFERENCE USED, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, IN ANY BLITZ.

10.    There will be 2 points for a win, 1 point for a draw and 0 points for a loss. The team with the most points wins the Blitz or the Section of the Blitz. There will only be a Blitz Final if the Blitz consists of 6 or more teams.

11.    If two teams finish level on points at the top of the table score difference will NOT be used to determine who wins the Blitz. In that situation there will be a play-off match, between the 2 schools involved, at the end of the Blitz. The winning team goes through. If that play-off match is a draw two periods of extra time will be played (5 minutes per half). If it is still level after extra time 2 more periods of extra time, 3 minutes per period, will be played. If it is still level after this both schools are to come back another day and have a replay. That replay will be a 30 minute match (15 minutes per half).

12.   If three teams finish level on points at the top of the table the Blitz Co-ordinator will put the 3 school names into a hat. The first drawn out will be directly into a play-off Final, at the end of the Blitz. The other 2 schools play each other. The winning school plays the school which was drawn out of the hat first, in the Play-Off Final. All these games will be 14 minutes in duration (7 minutes a half).

·         If the first play-off match is a draw two periods of extra time will be played (5 minutes per half). If it is still level after extra time 2 more periods of extra time, 3 minutes per period, will be played. If it is still level after this both schools are to come back another day, along with the school drawn out of the hat first, for a three-way Blitz. Each match in this Blitz will be 20 minute in duration (10 minutes per half). The team with the most points goes through.

·         If the Play-Off Final is a draw two periods of extra time will be played (5 minutes per half). If it is still level after extra time 2 more periods of extra time, 3 minutes per period, will be played. If it is still level after this both schools are to come back another day and have a replay. That replay will be a 30 minute match (15 minutes per half).

Duties of Blitz Co-ordinators

Immediately upon reading this information the Co-ordinator of a Blitz must:

A.      Book the pitch.

B.      Book the referee/referees.

C.      Ring each school involved to confirm their involvement.

D.      Confirm the time of the Blitz with each school.

E.       Ring the schools again, the day before, to double confirm their participation.

F.       Work to ensure everything runs smoothly during the Blitz.

G.     Collect the money for the referee/referees and caretaker, from each school, at the   beginning of the Blitz. Then give the money to the referee and caretaker at the end of the Blitz.

H.      Text me on 087-6578057, immediately after the Blitz has finished , with the name of the winning school and the Runners up. I am asking the Co-ordinators to text me, or email me, the final score of EVERY game in the Blitz. My phone number is 087-6578057. My email address is aodanwrenn@gmail.com

Please record the scores of each game in the blitz. This is for our records, to help us with the regarding process next year.

·         Please ensure that the Blitzes are played on the Dates that I have set for them.  If there are problems with those dates the Blitz must be played on the day before or the day after. It is of up-most importance that each Blitz is played on the week given.

If schools do not co-operate FULLY we will move on with our Under 11 Competitions without them. Remember, the County Finals are on earlier than usual, this year.

I’d like to ask each school to co-operate FULLY with us on all the above issues.

I want to wish each and every school the very best of luck in the Blitzes.

Aodan Wrenn.

Secretary.

Tipperary Allianz Cumann na mBunscol.
